Is Rapper TI Guilty of Sexually Policing His Daughter?

Is Rapper TI guilty of sexually policing his daughter? Apparently, most people who are blasting him on social media think so. If you haven’t heard, Rapper and budding social activist TI is catching fire from angry people all over social media for admitting in an interview that he not only discourages his daughter from developing serious relationships with boys, he accompanies her to her yearly Gynecological exam to make sure her Virginity is intact. The opinions on TI’s actions are wide ranging but the general consensus is that TI is displaying hypocritical false-morality that he has only acquired through wealth.

When I heard the story, I thought TI was going a bit too far then I began to think about my own daughter. She recently turned 25 and although she lives and attends University in a different city we talk often and I see her every few months. I knew when she lost her virginity because she told me. I never imposed any restrictions on her so she has never been afraid to seek relationship advice from me, in fact she finds that I’m more understanding than her mother. The best advice that I gave her was to be careful with her emotions because in a secular society like ours, most women seek love while a lot of men seek sex. Its not until women get frustrated with the non-serious ways of men that they start thinking about themselves first.

I'd say I’m similar to TI in some ways because when I think about it, I’ve rarely had to give my sons any relationship advice. Men naturally tend to protect their daughters. In TI’s case he’s probably thinking more about protecting his wealth and fame from opportunists who might use his daughter as a pawn to gain fame themselves. I mean, how many times have we seen famous people get sexually blackmailed? The embarrassment is hard for most to take unless you're a Kardashian.

What about you; do you think TI is justified in sexually policing his daughter? Are you or would you do what he is doing? #TI

"The Mantle of Struggle A Biography of Black Revolutionary Rosie Douglas"

Rosie Douglas, former prime minister of Dominica, had a life unlike any other modern politician. After leaving home to study agriculture in Canada, he became a member of the young Conservatives, under the Canadian prime minister’s guidance. However, after he moved to Montreal to study political science his politics started to shift. By the late sixties he was an active civil rights supporter and when Black students in Montreal began to protest racism in 1969, he helped lead the sit-in. He was identified as a protest ringleader after the peaceful protest turned into a police riot, and served 18 months in prison.
