How long does it take to dissolve a human body?
It takes less than 6 hours with the right chemicals and equipment.
You can typically use sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, strong bases commonly known as lye, which is easily purchased in 50 lb. bags.
These chemicals are common... The base was pellet lye (NaOH) marketed to clear blocked pipes, while the acid was muriatic (HCl) used to balance pool pH; both can be used, you must have the right formulation.
Also required is container that can be pressurized and heated.
Heat the container to 300 degrees; once heated to 300-degrees, you’ll need 60 pounds of pressure per square inch of a lye solution which can turn a body (bones and all) into tan to dark liquid with the consistency of mineral oil in less than 6 hours. It takes around a hundred pounds of powdered lye to dissolve a body.
If your container isn’t pressurized, you won’t be able to heat the solution much above the boiling point of water, 212 degrees, and it might take an additional hour or two or more to complete the process.
